Prof. Jianchun Xiao’s visit to National Reference Laboratory for Toxoplasmosis

Research on the new diagnostic tools for reactivated toxoplasmosis within @ToxoReTREAT project resulted in collaboration with Prof. Jianchun Xiao from the #JohnsHopkinsUniversity  #JohnsHopkinsMedicine , Stanley Neurovirology Laboratory. Prof. Xiao was our guest at the #NRL for Toxoplasmosis @imrbelgrade for 9 days, and we worked with her diligently on optimization and implementation of new diagnostic, monitoring & research tools for toxoplasmosis, applicable not only in human patients but also in experimental models. 
We also organized a successful seminar at the Institute for Medical Research, comprised of Prof. Xiao’s lecture on Toxoplasma infection in humans, and PI’s on #ToxoReTREAT accomplishments for the first 15 months of project. 
Of course, we made sure that Prof. Xiao experiences the beauty of Belgrade in the spring (despite rain), our cultural and historic heritage. 
We are looking forward to the future of this collaboration and we intend to work hard to make it as bright and fruitful as expected, so, stay tuned 🙂
