ToxoReTREAT project

The project “Reinvention of the diagnostic algorithm and treatment options for reactivated toxoplasmosis” – ToxoReTREAT is one of 97 projects approved for financing by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, within the PRISMA program.

The realization of the project will last 36 months and will be financed by the Science Fund in the maximum amount of RSD 31,270,000.00 (€265,000). Four scientific research organizations (SRO) participate in the activities of the project – the Institute for Medical Research of the University of Belgrade as a leading institution, the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Belgrade, the Institute of Physics Belgrade, and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the ToxoReTREAT project will offer new, improved options for the diagnosis and treatment of reactivated toxoplasmosis in the patient population of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients, who represent the fastest growing population of immunosuppressed patients in Europe.
